Howard was my grandfather, Thomas Green Swann was my great grandfather and John Swann, my great great grandfather. I recognize many of these seem to be down John's brother, James Wesley but some are not, i.e. Katie Nep is John's granddaughter.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3994361890048096930.post-73200216737270302362016-01-18T22:52:03.217-05:002016-01-18T22:52:03.217-05:00Hello Joan, I am Melissa Swann Meyhoefer. This is ...Hello Joan, I am Melissa Swann Meyhoefer. This is great! If you can find the time and can do me the favor, I would like a copy of the index sent to my email so I can view better and for starters a pic of Katie Nep, Matilda Green Harper Swann and Swann and Harper tents at campground. My email is meyhoefer@comcast.net. My GGG grandfather was John Swann which was James Wesley Swann and Thomas Divenney Swann brother who came in an ox cart with their mom Rosannah Short and her mother Dinah Short to settle on hwy 138 in then Henry County, now Conyers. I was interested in seeing what Matilda looked like as she was a Harper. (My granny's granny was also a Harper (Sarah Elizabeth Harper who married an Elliott and then a Smith). My granny was a Cook. (opps, digressed) My grandpa was a Swann (Howard Augustus). Howard was a younger brother to Katie Nep (Catherine Penelope Swann). Thank you so much. This will be so nice. I have been filling in my ancestry tree on ancestry.com. That name doesn't...Wow! Twins! What a handful.

That name doesn't come up with any of my Swann's, but that doesn't mean it's not a possibility. My great-grandfather, William Wesley SWANN, had a brother, John Thomas SWANN, who was married to Elizabeth "Bettie" ROSSER. I've done very little research on that line--so I am not sure. Their father was James Wesley Swann (1808-1867).

AND thanks for the Welcome and how do you like your iPad?Joan Thomas Hollowayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18210117849454064392noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3994361890048096930.post-45156182435551200782010-10-13T09:44:57.163-04:002010-10-13T09:44:57.163-04:00I wonder if the Swanns I know are your Swanns!
